Additionally, we have extensive partnerships with both a world-leading AI company and the Wim Hof Method team to work on cancer-related studies that can save lives.

Jim Nasr

Founder & CEO

Prior to Acoer, Jim was the Vice President of Technology for Certara and was the Chief Software Architect at the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Jim led a number of modernizations of CDC’s public health systems, through implementation of interoperable software, data as a service, blockchain and open source software.

Jim has more than twenty years of experience in the technology industry, with over a decade as a founder and CEO of Armedia. With Jim’s expertise, Armedia grew from inception to over 100 employees, and a 5-time Inc. 5000 awardee.

Jim is on the board of many technology organizations and the Architecture Lead for PhUSE Blockchain Working Group. He has an MBA from the University of Connecticut.

Ben Chevallereau, PhD is the Chief Technology Officer for Acoer.

He has lived and worked in 5 countries and brings experience from major corporate and public clientele, including the FDA, USDA, and UK Ministry of Justice.

Dr. Chevallereau developed one of the first blockchain projects for the Center for Disease Control. He also created OpenCDC, an open-source repository for code, data and APIs from the CDC. He has published books and videos on document management solutions including his dissertation “Contribution of new modeling approaches to software sustainability”.

Dr. Chevallereau oversees all technology and development at Acoer, working closely with teams of designers, developers, and business partners to ensure the highest quality of product.

After studying Computer Sciences in the University of Deusto in Spain he ventured to the United Kingdom to work on a start up consultancy. With his help the company grew from 2 employees and a small office to a nearly 100 people with offices in 3 different countries in 3 years time.

His career in IT spans to more than 15 years and during this time he worked for clients from different sectors such as aeronautics, central and local government, finance, pharmaceutical, etc. building large scale robust solutions. Adei likes to stay on top of the state-of-the-art technologies from the front-end to the back and everything in between and is an eager learner.

He is now back in his beloved Basque Country after living 12 years in the United Kingdom.

Ashley graduated Cum Laude from the University of Alabama in Huntsville after moving from Alberta, Canada to attend the university on a soccer scholarship. Post-graduation, she worked as a piping/mechanical designer for an engineering firm where she developed a great passion for technology and software development. 



Pursuing her software development passion, Ashley graduated from Georgia Tech with a certificate in Full Stack Development in 2017 and began her career as a full stack software developer at AT&T. Shifting to a start-up focus, her development experience has ranged from telecommunications, to government sectors and healthcare/pharmaceutical solutions where she became fascinated with blockchain and dApp development.

Ashley is currently residing in Atlanta, Georgia and enjoys hikes with her dogs, dabbling with her Raspberry Pi, and mentoring future software engineers.

Dr. Durrani is a STEM education advocate, medical analyst, speaker, and practicing emergency medicine physician in Houston, TX. He graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with degrees in Biology and Political Science. Before earning his medical degree from Oklahoma State University, he worked at The White House in the Obama administration.

Dr. Durrani frequently serves as a medical contributor in print media and is a frequent independent medical contributor on CNN, MSNBC, BBC, CBS, NBC, and other networks.

He loves speaking about a variety of topics including advocacy, STEM education, blockchain in healthcare, and social media in medicine. He is passionate about using technology in addressing the social determinants of health. He also is a host for a STEM television show, STEM City, in Houston, which aims to inspire the next generation of STEM leaders.

Zenobia Godschalk is the founder and Chairwoman of ZAG Communications, which she has grown into a multi-million dollar technology public relations firm. She has over 25 years experience founding and growing tech companies into multi-billion dollar, global brands. Godschalk was a founding team member and served as SVP of Communications for Hedera, which she helped grow into a Top 30 (by market cap) blockchain company. 

Zenobia was previously a sell-side equity research analyst with Morgan Keegan, covering Internet Security and Infrastructure. She was awarded the Wall Street Journal's #1 Software Analyst Team honor in 2006. She joined Morgan Keegan from Opsware (NASDAQ: OPSW), where she was part of the founding team and helped grow the business to $100M in revenue, before its acquisition by HP for $1.6B. Godschalk began her career in finance for Intel Corporation. 

She is a board advisor to Acoer and Instarails, and a member of the board of Stanford FLAN (Stanford’s First Generation, Low Income Alumni Network), The Forte Group (Female CISO leadership group), and the Trinity School in Atlanta, GA.
Dr Brandi McCleskey

Dr. Brandi McCleskey is an accomplished Associate Professor in the field of Forensic Pathology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Department of Pathology. She serves as an Associate Coroner/Medical Examiner for Jefferson County, Alabama. She is renowned for her contributions to academia, the practice of forensic medicine, and mentorship of students and trainees.

Dr. McCleskey earned her medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and completed residency in both Anatomic and Clinical pathology at UAB where she also served as the Chief Resident in Anatomic Pathology. She then pursued her passion for Forensic Pathology at UAB where she worked at the Jefferson County Coroner/Medical Examiner’s Office to complete her fellowship. She obtained board certification in Anatomic, Clinical, and Forensic Pathology and was offered an opportunity to remain at UAB in the Forensics Division after her fellowship and chose to begin her career as an academic-based Forensic Pathologist. She became active in research and built collaborations with experts in clinical fields and public health. Leveraging the power of primary mortality statistics, she has helped inform many high-powered publications and presentations shared in a variety of journals and national platforms.
Cynthia Smith

Cynthia Smith, with experience as Managing Director and Partner at two venture funds, specializes in early-stage high tech, fintech, and health tech companies. At Immersive Capital, she crafted the fund's thesis for Fintech investment and value creation for its Asian Global 100 partner. While at Nanoholdings, LLC, she spearheaded IP investment commercialization and formed development partnerships, including with a Global 3 firm. Currently, Cynthia privately invests in blockchain, fintech, and healthtech. In earlier roles, she held executive positions at BioSource (acq: Invitrogen), (acq: United Internet) and as CEO of Mission Salt. As mentor, Cynthia has supported hundreds of startups, including current companies Conduit and Minutia, aiding in strategy and scalability. Cynthia serves as founding Board member of CW3, a global organization supporting blockchain innovation and policy in 33 countries.
Dr Paula Yoon

Director of the Division of Health Informatics and Surveillance (Ret.)
CDC
Paula Yoon retired in June 2022 after 30 years with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Her last position was director of the Division of Health Informatics and Surveillance.  In this position, she provided oversight of activities that support two national surveillance programs: 1) the National Notifiable Diseases Surveillance System that enables health departments to send case notifications on about 120 primarily infectious diseases to CDC and 2) the National Syndromic Surveillance Program that supports local and state health departments in using syndromic surveillance data for situational awareness and response to health threats. The division also developed information systems for data collection and exchange, and provided a Data Hub that coordinated access to external health-related data sources for CDC researchers. During the COVID-19 response, Paula led the Data, Analytics, and Visualization Taskforce which expanded CDC surveillance strategies to meet the response’s critical needs, implemented more standardized approaches to data collection, and improved timely interpretation of data to inform real-time decision-making within the CDC response and at HHS and the White House. 

Paula’s prior positions at CDC focused on establishing and optimizing disease surveillance systems and working with state health departments to standardize data collection across the country.  Before joining CDC, Paula worked at the World Health Organization and the U.N. International Labour Office in Geneva, Switzerland, and the Johns Hopkins Institute for International Programs in Baltimore, Maryland. She was also a Peace Corps Volunteer in Kenya. Paula received her bachelor’s degree at Boston College and her MPH and ScD from the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health.
